Over the Labor Day weekend, the founders of BizyParentSolutions.com (BPS) will give the site a facelift that will include adding coupons and savings from smaller, local businesses. Site co-founder, Beth O'Connor, gave the reason for the addition of the coupons when she commented, "With the economy in its current state, families need to shop within their budgets and small business will work hard to help them do just that."

Since the site is aimed at "bizy" parents, the site founders have made it as easy as possible for local families to get information about new discounts. By entering an email address, the site founders will ensure that families are notified each time a coupon is posted. Now, Triangle-area families can receive discounts on a variety of products and services, from children's clothing to small luxury items, without a large investment of time.

The updated look of the site will also incorporate a comprehensive calendar of events.     Since anyone is permitted to submit an event, and doing so is free, there are hundreds of events that target all age groups. This means that, in one place, a family can find story-time listings for their toddler and "poison dart frog feedings" for their older children.

The BizyParentSolutions.com website was launched in May 2003 by two local parents, Beth O'Connor and Missy Farrow, with two goals in mind. The first goal was to provide a complete, family-oriented resource to local parents. As Ms. Farrow commented, "The Triangle offers a lot to families and finding it all can be intimidating. Our mission is for parents to be able to find the resources and businesses they need without looking all over the web or yellow pages." Ms. O'Connor and Ms. Farrow have done this by compiling a thorough directory of area museums, parks, family-friendly businesses, and the like.

The second goal was to offer small business owners a way to gain quality exposure for their businesses at a low cost. They have accomplished this by providing inexpensive advertising space and a chance to get the word out about small business offers.
